client : Cirque du soleil & Richard MacDonald

Budget : 1.2 million

Place : Crystals Palace, City Center Las Vegas, USA

Surface area: 3500 sq.ft

Mandate: interior design

Completion date: 2010

Concept and challenges : In collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, HUMÀ design + architecture was handed over the project of the new art gallery for the artist Richard MacDonald situated at Crystals Place in City Center. The space concept was born from the materiality of the sculptor’s artworks. In this way, the gallery links itself like a marble cube in which the artworks are extracted from. Three bronze niches create three strong perspectives taking over certain classicism in the technical drawings and staging three definite times in the gallery. The central niche showcases the sculpture named ‘’Three Graces’’ which lays in a basin and generates a water wall forty feet large by fifteen feet high which also showcases the art.
