  • Concept and challenges: Gray granite from Ste-Cécile and St-Sébastien Mountains was used to build hundreds of buildings in Quebec, including several churches and other public buildings; including Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica and St. Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal. Large granite factories process stones and shape a variety of products ranging from architectural granite to furniture pieces. The Interpretation Center is the focal point for discovering the region and shining a glimpse of several activities nearby: the historic career trails, the observatory, the visit to the Saint Joseph's Oratory quarry and guided tours to Saint-Joseph. Sebastian. "Stone Travel" is a unique exhibition in the gardens and interior spaces of the Maison du Granit. Like fossils revealing the past, the scenic trail and its historical pointers trace the genesis of the stone and the history of the granite industry since l880.
