Concept and challenges: The Dayan Group, in competition with the team of HUMÀ Desing + Architecture, presents the residential redevelopment of a considerable part of the plot found between Notre-Dame, Richmond, William and Saint-Martin streets. Located in Griffintown, a sector under strong pressure in terms of real estate development, the Saint Martin island project is the final step in the transformation from the historically industrial district into a residential and living environment. LE SE7T is a project inspired by the renewal of the sector through the integration of small shops. The variety of types of dwellings offered and their layout make it possible to meet specific needs: from studios to large accommodation with three bedrooms, the units have varied surfaces and are always carefully planned to meet high standard of living. The layout of the projet is furthermore improved by the landscape architecture. In addition, the project aims at high standards of sustainable development and thus meets the prerogatives relating to the heritage of the site and the sector by a thoughtful and nuanced architectural language, which blends the building with its surroundings.
