PARADE EYEWEAR
Lunetterie Parade consists of a functional and aesthetic space meeting the specific needs of an independent optometry boutique and clinic. Located in the heart of Espace Montmorency in Laval, this eyewear store was initially going to be housed in a 1,200 sq. ft. space. However, following a review of needs, the Parade eyewear store required a larger space to meet all requirements. Therefore, the project includes the expansion of the boutique to accommodate a larger number of frames as well as a second optometry room, resulting in a total area of 1,800 sq. ft.

The available space was maximized by creating distinct yet harmonious zones, adapted to the different functions of Parade Eyewear. The design and architecture promote a smooth flow of customers and staff while providing a welcoming and ergonomic environment. Located on the ground floor of a residential tower, the space unfolds in an irregular triangular shape with two long sides featuring a glass facade. As a result, only one wall was available for the plumbing installation and the passage of clinical equipment. The presence of structural columns at the heart of the space was a major challenge: integrating them into the project was essential.
These two design challenges gradually became a design premise, and are at the heart of the narrative deployed for this concept: "to create a promenade inspired by an outdoor terrace." The abundant natural light therefore became an integral part of the concept: a spectacle that changes as the hours go by. To enhance and reinforce this idea of interior / exterior, our team chose to punctuate the space with greenery, whose shadows and reflections are now part of the materiality. As reinforcement, the columns treated as the pillars of this microworld, symbolize large trees, whose roots are display stands, the roughness of the trunk becomes mirrors, and the top gently brightens to welcome the light. Customers can shop for their frames in the heart of a layout with an organic and timeless path. This promenade integrates the frames as objects of beauty punctuating the walk: it naturally inspired the name of the store. Parade: An outdoor parade for the exhibition of talents, skills, and joyful events. Parade becomes a destination, a place of visual richness.
Particular attention was paid to the choice of lighting fixtures with Lumigroup, to echo the concept. Elevated like large parasols reflecting the sun's rays, and all in curves, the pendants are reflected on the floor in the displays, entirely custom-designed to depict the organic path of the interior garden. Thus, from the lighting fixtures to the displays, everything was designed to amplify the signature of the Parade project. A materiality emphasizing natural and warm tones on the floor, and airy colors above blend into the universe of the place, respecting the clinical criteria of a space dedicated to eye health and suitable for a wide range of customers. The natural tones and the sobriety of the boutique environment allow the frames to be the center of attention, and thus, to highlight their shapes, colors and personalities, like flowers that color the bushes in a park.
