ROCHER TRES PERCÉ
The International Garden Festival, held at the Reford Gardens in the Gaspé region of Quebec, presents its 19th edition of the new ephemeral gardens, which will be presented starting June 22, 2018. Playsages II – Go play outside! The Festival wanted to continue this exploration with a sort of response to our isolation from nature, which deprives us of the wonder of the beauty that only nature can offer us. Humà Design and Architecture therefore imagined a play space in which families and children would have fun meeting, creating an event that brings nature and people together.

On the road to Gaspésie, halfway between Quebec and Percé, Métis-sur-mer is a popular stopover. In the gardens of Métis, gateway to Gaspésie, comes, for the duration of one summer, its very Percé Rock, a huge hollowed-out structure but full of meaning. It is intended as a pleasant stop, to stretch one's legs, a sort of glimpse, a reward for the visitor who always has 4.5 hours of driving to do before reaching Percé, the far east of Gaspésie.
Often seen from afar, imposing by the symbol it represents and by its size, visitors will be able to touch, climb, and appropriate the reinterpretation of this normally untouchable regional icon. Decontextualized, the structure with aquatic colors is found here in a terrestrial, rocky, mineral, and plant environment. Here in Métis-sur-mer, we can celebrate, walk around, and lie down on this artificial form in a natural and festive environment; respectful of the cultural and natural landscape that is the Reford Gardens.
