SCALABRINI
The Scalabrini Village project combines new housing construction with St. Rita Church to save this abandoned place of worship and create a village for tenants without families. The Scalabrinian Missionaries want to provide affordable housing and keep the church for non-religious community activities in Ahuntsic-Cartierville. The 51-unit complex will house retired priests from the congregation, single people, couples, and families. The design of the new building harmonizes with the church's architecture, with green spaces around the square to highlight the church and create an interface with the street.

As this project was intended to be a community and social project, it was essential to create a warm and friendly atmosphere in the common areas, while optimizing a limited budget. This is how the design principles gradually turned to signage, which quickly became the cornerstone of the project's identity. See Scalabrini's Signage project.
